Professional and Supportive Couples Therapy
Relationships can be one of the most fulfilling aspects of life, but they can also bring challenges and difficulties. As a qualified and experienced Couples Therapist, I offer professional, confidential, and compassionate support to help couples navigate their relationship concerns.
With so many competing demands on our time in the world today, is it any wonder that our relationships suffer. You may find less and less authenticity in your relationship or perhaps communication was never a strong point from the start.
Do any of these sound familiar?
- I feel alone and disconnected and don’t know how to reach my partner anymore
- I’m fed up of feeling misunderstood – I just want to be heard
- I’m struggling with feeling insecure and jealous which I know is affecting our relationship
- We feel like we’re drifting apart and are becoming strangers under the same roof
- I’ve just found out my partner has been unfaithful – I feel overwhelmed and confused
- Romance and intimacy are no longer part of our relationship – will we ever connect like that again?
- I feel like everything is down to me – I’m exasperated and exhausted with it all
We can feel like we’re going round in circles with all the miscommunication and blaming – leading to us feeling utterly exhausted.
What to Expect from Couples Therapy
It is a big step to come into couples therapy and it is likely to provoke anxiety or challenging emotions. I will endeavour to make your experiences in couples counselling as stress-free as possible.
Ensuring you are heard in the space could be the first step to unlocking your struggles. I will not be taking sides but instead encouraging you to communicate openly with each other in order to find a way forward.
In a session, I will invite you to relate to each other differently than perhaps you have been. My feedback and intervention can help you to learn how to hear each other and establish where to go from here.
As couples therapy progresses, you may navigate a separation or decide your futures by staying together and working on the relationship. Both are challenging processes, but with the help of me as your couples counsellor, they can be negotiated well with respect, attention and care to ensure you have an outcome you can come to terms with.
We will work collaboratively and this will give you an opportunity to:
- Explore your relationship dynamics with a neutral and experienced couples therapist
- Improve communication skills and develop effective ways to express feelings and needs
- Gain deeper insights into each other’s perspectives and experiences
- Work through past hurts and build a stronger foundation for the future
Every couple is different just as each individual is different, but usually there are some common themes that arise in our intimate relationships.
Issues Often Addressed in Couples Therapy
- Communication difficulties and conflict resolution
- Addressing infidelity and rebuilding trust
- Managing life transitions such as parenthood, career changes, or retirement
- Proactively strengthening your relationship
- Recognising when past traumas are affecting your present connection
- Developing ways to improve sex lives, intimacy and emotional closeness
This list is not exhaustive, so if you are experiencing something different, then please get in touch and we can discuss how I can help you with your specific issue.
My Approach to Couples Work
Whether you are facing communication difficulties, trust issues, or major life transitions, I provide a safe space to explore and strengthen your relationship.
I work with couples using a humanistic, trauma-informed and integrative approach, tailoring sessions to your unique relationship dynamics. My practice is underpinned by person-centred values, ensuring that partners feel heard, understood, and supported.
Therapy provides an opportunity to explore underlying issues, improve communication, and develop healthier relationship patterns.
How I Became a Couples Therapist
I have worked as a therapist since 2014 and I have always had an interest in how different relationships tick – whether a traditional type of relationship or non-conventional relationships such as ethical non-monogamy. Following extensive experience of working with individuals, I decided to explore training as a couples therapist a few years ago.
My training was comprehensive and allowed a deep development of my skills. I regularly attend further training in couples work to ensure I provide the best possible outcomes for couples attending.
Flexible Setting Options
I offer couples therapy in a way that suits your lifestyle and preferences:
- Face-to-Face Sessions: Private and supportive in-person sessions in a welcoming setting based in my garden summerhouse.
- Online Therapy: Secure video sessions, allowing you to access therapy from the comfort of your home.
Booking and Fees
I have flexible appointment times during the day, including some evening sessions.
My total fee for an hour is £75.00 per session.
Ready to Take the Next Step?
Just the thought of coming to couples therapy can feel scary. But with the right approach and the willingness to work together, it can be one of the most important and positive steps you take towards the relationship you want.
I prefer to speak with prospective clients before arranging any sessions. I understand how much anxiety and uncertainty this situation can bring. It’s my job to help you feel ready to begin this journey – and together, we can plan the destination that’s right for you.
If you are looking for an experienced and supportive couples therapist serving the local Warwickshire areas of Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick, or Leamington Spa, I would be happy to discuss how we can work together.
