FAQs about Counselling?
Counselling can be a daunting prospect and here at Counselling Warwickshire, the aim is to make the process as easy as possible for you. Below you will find some answers to questions which are commonly asked when thinking about attending therapy.
How much will counselling cost?
A standard fee is set between £40.00 to £50.00 per session on a sliding scale.
At our initial meeting, we will have an opportunity to discuss your situation and arrange a rate which is manageable for you. This first session is discounted at £25.00 to give us an opportunity to see if we can work together.
Payment either in cash or a direct bank transfer 24 hours before each session.
How many counselling sessions will I need?
As we are all individuals with our own unique and different issues, this is a difficult question to answer without meeting you. Some people find a few sessions is sufficient to explore problems and to make the changes they desire.
However, other clients may benefit from more long-term work if they are attempting to work through long-established behaviours or issues. Your requirements can be discussed and the number of sessions agreed in the initial session.
I work with the person-centred belief that a client has their own answers and the counsellor is there to facilitate them in finding those answers. This also applies to how many sessions you may need. We can regularly review the work to bring your sessions to a satisfactory conclusion.
How often will I need to attend?
Counselling is generally most beneficial when undertaken on a weekly basis and each session will normally last 50 minutes, although this can be negotiable and talked through when we meet to suit your needs.

During this initial consultation, you will be able to ask any questions you may have about the counselling process and find out how the therapeutic relationship works. We will consider your expectations of counselling and you can decide whether counselling is for you or not.
