We are social beings, but sometimes we find it hard to get make our relationships work. When you are in an unhappy relationship, you need support because it can feel like a very lonely place.
Perhaps you have experienced infidelity or a betrayal? Or maybe you are in an abusive relationship and feel scared to do anything about it? These situations can be extremely difficult to cope with alone. Trust has been broken and this can lead to uncomfortable feelings. Sometimes we struggle on alone and symptoms of anxiety and depression may surface.
Relationship issues vary
There are all kinds of relationship problems whether involving a spouse, an ex-lover, a friend or a lack of anybody close to you. So, the situation itself may vary. Counselling helps you to unpack how you feel about all manner of different relationship issues.
Separation and divorce
Experiencing a relationship breakdown can be devastating because it can leave us with a range of difficult feelings. These may include sadness, anger, disappointment and uncertainty. Therapy provides a confidential space to discuss your loss.
Couples can feel overwhelmed by the challenges faced in their relationship. Likewise, conflict and arguments can cause alienation and isolation which is difficult to deal with.
Currently, I am unable to offer couples counselling. However, clients who come individually can still benefit from exploring their feelings with an impartial relationship counsellor.

If you do not have many close relationships, you may yearn for the closeness of a romantic relationship or friendship. As a result, you may feel something is missing from your life and this can be distressing.
